Beach Cleaning

I have decided to make this beach cleaning activity both an outing and voluntary day.
Since some of the members have not met each other, it is good to have some ice-breaker games, bonding, picnic and games so as to know each other better.
It will be held at East Coast Park on a weekend but I have not confirm with the date and time.
I will keep you posted as soon as possible. Stay tune~

The return of the almighty

Hey people. It's been a long time ever since we have been active with our activities.
Since my exams are soon over, I'm am planning a voluntary work which is:
Beach Cleaning.
I am still looking into the details for the beach cleaning and will update you people about the day, venue and destination.
More updates.
I will have to remove certain people from the group for a few reason.
1 - Lack of enthusiasm
2 - Inactive
3 - Lack of team spirit
And last of all, I would like to have a smaller group who are more dedicated towards protecting our lovely enivironment.
I think that is all for now.

Massacre of the innocent beings

What a horrible thing to do.
You can have seafood but just not dolphin products.
There are a enormous variety of seafood in the sea but why dolphins?
Watch this video of dolphin massacre.
Why are we so ruthless?
Gosh, just imagine somebody holding on to a kantana, stab in into your throat and ruthlessly slit it and let you bleed to death.
Well, you may think it is funny or whatever because it will never happen to you...
But if you have the compassion, you will be able to feel the pain that the dolphins go through.
They are innocent and benign beings after all, and they deserve better treatments.
It is just like how we want others to treat us but we are not treating others how we wanted them to treat us.

Collection & Plans

I don't know whether you people actually mind, but I have to announce some news...
Usually people would hate this much but I still have to say.
I'll be collecting our group fund of $15 starting from this month onwards.
These money collected would be divided and be allocated for a few usage.
$2 - Donation for the Wildlife Conservation Fund
$3 - For a hat use during our hiking trips
$10 - For our group T-Shirt.
After we've bought the hat and make our shirt, the fund will still be collected as group funds so that next time when we need any equipments, we'll be able to afford it.

Other than that, I was thinking of new activities for the group to carry out...
Every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, we'll go for brisk walking while on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month, we'll do some neighbourhood cleaning.

Promotion of ranks

This is one portion of the rankings I've come up with:

1a. Junior Member
1b. Member
1c. Senior Member
2a. Junior Elite Member
2b. Elite Member
2c. Senior Elite Member
2d. Double Elite member

For promotion wise,
Jr member to member takes either 2yrs, or 150 hours of CIP and 1 task given by me done.
Member to Senior member takes either 4yrs, or 350 CIP hours and 2 task given by me done.

And that's all you need to know for now...
Tomorrow school will start and therefore I will wish everyone All the best...

Neighbourhood exploration

Today after I came back from my fishing trip with Mr Low, Uncle Gary, and Ye Shun, my group of friends and I were up to some mischief.

So this is where we came from.

A vegetable farm at the background.

What is with them?

The always active Wei theng.

This is the path leading
to the mini vegetable farm.

We also played with mould that carries little air bubbles. As we pressed on the surface of the mould, the bubbles were freed and it came bubbling on our palms. It felt ticklish as though our palms are having a jacuzzi treatment.

In the end, our mischief turns out to be a random exploration trip...
But it was fun. So I guess all of us enjoyed the trip.

My plans...

It's been quite sometime since I'm here to update our blog entries.
Well, I was planning something and I've decided to split this group further into two category.

First will have two main category:
The "green" group which also refers to the floras club and "beast" which refers to the faunas.
Then it will be further categorized into.

Green - Flora:
Aquatic plants, Land plants, Agriculture, Gardening plants, Wild plants, flowering and non-flowering...etc...

Beast - Fauna:
Mammals, Non-mammal, Marine creatures, land animals, reptiles, amphibian, animals with exoskeleton...etc...

and such... Take note that though it is further categorized, there is still a need for each individual to do something for the environment like voluntary work.

The main reason for doing that is to be more specific for our members to go into the various animal categories to suit your interest instead of holistic grouping which some of you might not be interested...

Members be sure to post you comments and give me more ideas as I will slowly go into these.

What about you?

Say...
We are "so-called" living in the best planet*...
Not too hot and not too cold, but the world has change, climate has change, and worst of all, Everything is starting to change for the worst. And I really mean WORST!
A greenery with a hole, a humongous hole in the center...
On the surface, it looks as if it's the best "planet" but people never realize it is under wreckage!
What do you mean by greenery? And what do you mean by clean?
People say they would do their best to protect the environment, in the end, it is just blank words...
Whatever greenery and blah blah blah... It is just rubbish and nonsense.
Wait till I graduate this year, I will start a mass recycling programme during my holidays.
GRRrr...
Materialistic = Hopeless
I'm utterly disappointed with the !#@$#^R%$*). Well just have to shut my mouth till the time comes...
I wonder what is people thinking in this 21st century or maybe this ERA...

So... What are you going to do huh?

Hiking at Ubin

Sorry that I have not updated part 5, 6, 7... Haven't got much time to do updating because of odd schedules and extreme fatigue killing my afternoon for naps. Alright people, I would like to plan another trip to Ubin on 1st May on labour day which is a public holiday but I'm scared of overcrowding at Ubin. Haha...
Well we still got a few more quarries to visit as you can see and time is running short because it is getting closer and closer to our exams and soon my 'O' too. But I do not want to lose our hobbies even though studies are getting the better of us.

Interest and passion is what lives and motivate us to get to where we want especially in careers. So as we grow we should learn and as we do other things, we shall not lose these interest and make them serve us as a driving force. Life is just so brilliant with these activities. Don't you agree?

Please let me know what you people have decided so I can do some planning or something.

A wonderful day at Ubin - Part 1

We've finally completed two of our plans but it will still be on our list because we haven't finish exploring the whole Ubin! It's a waste that Ferris wasn't able to join us. Don't sulk people because the good thing is not up yet. I promise you that today's post would be a very long and interesting one.

Some random photos
of Jun An found in his
camera.

Alright. Here goes... A serene and peaceful morning, all sundry including me the 'supreme leader' which they announce me as woke up a little late at 7am without my bag packed because I was too tired yesterday and fall asleep halfway while packing. Then I rush to pack and get change while the others are already at my house. Then my mom send us to the Changi Ferri Terminal. It was a boring and lifeless start because Guo An seems to be unhappy or maybe his tired. And since I'm the oldest, my responsibilities is to make them enjoy and to look after their safety else any casualties will be held on me because we don't have indemnities.

On our way~
The boys were playing,
while I'm adjusting my mood.

I've got to be high to ensure that I don't overshadow anyone.

When we reached the
terminal, we took a photo

That's me~!

Taken by: Jun An

As we board the bum-boat, we wanted to sit at the window with the view of the sea but there was another family whose children also wanted the view. Then I asked the uncle whether we could roll up the flaps and he said that the water will enter the boat. So he asked to sit around the deck where the engine is in and the ledge of the "doors".

The boatman

ledge with a good view
the sea.

That's the "Uncle" and
Guo An who is enjoying
the breeze.

A random shot.

and Jun An. Look at
An An's face~

the water by the bow.

My view of the sea.

The view of the boatman.

As we are getting nearer to Ubin,

We saw the 'kelongs'

And this, a view of the
jetty from the boatman's
window.

After we disembark, Kwang Chen took this photo.

An archer fish
if I'm not wrong.

What are you doing
Guo An?
Broken neck Guo An.
Wei Theng, Jun An
and Kwang Chen.

WELCOME TO
PULAU UBIN~!

The first thing the two big boys did was to go down to the swamp. I'm worried for their safety because these two are extremist. Ferris is another one.

I wonder what are
they looking at...

What does these looks like?
Some ancient towers/buildings?
Nahh... It is just aerial roots
popping out of the soil.

Whose shadow is that!
Anyway look carefully,
you would be able to see
small gray anemones.

After that we went to the information kiosk to understand more about this place and get a map of Ubin and two maps of Chek Jawa Wetlands. Our main destination for today is to Chek Jawa and when we saw a photo of a quarry which is very beautiful, we decided to visit a quarry which is Ubin quarry. The Pekan quarry was the nearest but we actually skipped it!

The map of Ubin

Zoom in and you'll see the
grey lines, the path we took.

As we track to Ubin quarry, something caught our eyes. Floras... It was a sunny and scorching hot weather and we had to stop regularly to have a drink. Well, look on the bright side, at least it did not rain and spoil our day. So we stopped and have a drink while Wei Theng and Guo An is looking at flowers.
